Valerie did a great job organizing our multicultural wedding (French-Ukrainian). It wasn't easy to find the perfect vendors in Germany but she made it happen! She really listened to what was important to us and we are very grateful.
The theme/colours/decorations had touches from both countries, yet the end result was still elegant and true to who we are. She took care of all communication with the venue and vendors, and was a tremendous help on the day of with all the last-minute things to do. How much a destination wedding costs all depends on what you want. How many guests are going to be invited, where do you want to host the wedding and how many days are you thinking? All of these (and many more) factors play a huge role when determining a budget. As a destination wedding planner, I create your destination wedding to be your dream wedding. A luxury wedding starts at about $1,000 that are invested per person.
A destination wedding is usually a wedding that is celebrated outside of the bride and groom's known environment. That could be inside of the US, however most people probably envision a wedding aborad (wedding in Italy, France, Spain). As a destination wedding planner one of the most important things is that the whole experience is an event: what is travel like, what activities surrounding the wedding are attractive for guest and what is there to see. I plan everything so that at the end the couple usually hosts a multiday event which can be perfectly combined with a holiday!
The choice of the right destination wedding planner for you of course is up to the bride and groom. I would always recommend listening to your gut. Your wedding planner is going to be your best friend in this phase of life and you have to have the feeling that your planners gets you to be able to trust them fully. If in the first conversation you feel like the destination wedding planner understands your vision, takes away stress and pressure and excited you for your own wedding, that is a great start! Talk to a few planners to get a feel for what is important to you.
