Scouting venues is always the first and the most important step when it comes to wedding planning. With the right venue your dream wedding can become reality. It is great when the venue itself is gorgeous so that you can work off of that but don't be discouraged when you see venues that are a blank canvas: we and decorators and florists can get the most out of every venue with a few simple tips and tricks. Be open towards venues and let your wedding planner explain what they have in mind regarding your design concept.
Most couples don't factor in enough time to research venues. It is common that motivated fiancé(e)s start with wedding planning and go on a venue hunt on Google or social media. They realise that they have to enquire every single one fo them to get an idea of pricing and conditions and that they find more venues every single day. Additionally, every venue seems to be booked out 3 years in advance and you lose focus on what you actually want. This is often when couples will turn to a wedding planner.
It is indeed important to be smart about the time schedule when you are interested in a sought-after venue. They are popular for a reason and are booked about 11/2-2 years in advance easily. You can get around that if you are flexible with your date and are open to having your wedding on a weekday or off-season. Venues that are not that well-known are great when you rather want a quick wedding. Wedding planner usually know which dates are going to be in demand for the next couple of years so ask us if you have a specific date in mind.
Also think about the area that you want to have your wedding in when looking for venues. If you are looking for a chateau, you will not find something in Mallorca for example. However, in France beautiful venues by the sea are usually either very expensive or in more rural areas where it is difficult to get to.
You will find gorgeous venues everywhere, you simply have to know where to look. This is where we come into play.
As wedding planners we not only know about the importance of venues. We know the popular dates and which venue fits your wedding style and budget. We have visited and worked at so many venues that we can answer detailed questions like the flooring of each venue or whether there are going to be enough sockets for the DJ. If you go visit a venue on your own, it is often difficult to imagine what we can do to these spaces. Have the venues show you pictures of real weddings or styled shoots or go together with your planner to get a better vision.
If we have worked at a venue multiple times, we might get special discounts or cool add-ons because we know the people working there. If I do get discounts I make sure to forward them to you.
If you are looking for a venue in Germany for example, take a look at Frieda Therés which is a wedding blog who has collected many stunning venues.
