Your wedding day is coming closer and you get anxious about not wanting to forget important things on your big day but you do not know where to start? Here are 10 tips for the bride to get rid of that feeling. From getting ready to dancing the night away - this guide will help you enjoy your wedding to the fullest!
1. Get rid of anything that shows! What do I mean by that? To avoid pressure marks, you should not wear a bra while getting ready. The same goes for hair ties - especially when you forget taking them off.
2. Creaseless dress: The night before the wedding let your dress hang freely. This way you prevent creases and it can properly "settle".
3. The beauty programme: A couple of months before your wedding start thinking about your beauty routine. Do not change your routine a week before the wedding or you might get some unwanted surprises. Good things take time!
4. Shotlist: Not only think about who you want pictures taken with but also what you want pictures of. If your dream is to be photographed in one specific pose or to get a shot of your cake discuss these things with your photographer upfront so that you do not have to think about it on your wedding day.
5. Breaking in the dress: Of course your shoes should be broken in before the wedding but did you know that you should practise walking in your dress prior to walking down the aisle? When saying yes to the dress you usually only take a few steps but some dresses make it somewhat difficult to walk in so be prepared before you step onto your white carpet.
6. Hold it by the pubes, not the boobs: This refers to your bouquet which you should hold relaxed by your waist to get more natural pictures. This way you can also show off your dress.
7. Second dress? Second shoe! Think about whether you will be able to dance the night away in those stilettos or whether you might be comfortable in a different pair. This could be another elegant heel which is simply shorter or a flat shoe. This is totally up to you.
8. Don't run, walk: Some brides get so nervous that they rush to the altar. Take your time - everyone is there for you so take that in and enjoy the moment.
9. Accept mishaps: There might be some things that go wrong on your wedding day. Don't let this ruin your day by stressing about them but try to laugh about it. A wedding planner can be helpful for that scenario but keep in mind that the guests want to celebrate your love and do not care about small things.
10. Last but not least: Enjoy the day! Schedule in some time with your new husband/wife to really take in the day and enjoy it. You could sneak away during cocktail hour to watch your guests mingle from afar or reserve a last dance just for the two of you.
I hope these 10 tips for the bride could help you prepare for the day. These tips should just be a guideline though and do not have to be included for you to have a perfect day. If you want to know more about weddings and the planning process, take a look at my blog and get more information!
